Who we are
Henning Prox, Dipl.-Ing.

Before Henning Prox founded Travel Beyond, he worked as an architect and designer in Australia and Germany, and travelled widely throughout South America, Australia and Europe. After deciding to make the transition to tourism and event management, he worked for two years as the managing director of a sustainable travel and events agency, where his work centred on establishing the new tourism concept of donor-funded holidays on the German market.

As the world we live in seems to be getting smaller, Henning Prox sees the combination of adventure holidays and sustainability projects as the ideal opportunity to go out and discover the sheer variety that it has to offer while enriching our own lives through first-hand contact with people from other cultures. In 2006, the Berlin Tourism Board awarded its Founder Forum prize to Henning Prox and his former business partner, Sven Mangels, for developing this concept. Now, Henning Prox is taking it to the next level with Travel Beyond.

Gundula Iblher, journalist and dramaturge

For many years, Gundula Iblher worked as a dramaturge to develop concepts for cultural festivals and theatrical projects. More recently, the drama theory graduate has been working as an editor helping to set up cosmotourist.de, a Web 2.0-based travel community, while also working as a freelance journalist. She is a keen climber who loves to travel. The absolute highlight of her last trip was the caravan trip she took through the Egyptian and Algerian Sahara.

The Travel Beyond concept inspires Gundula Iblher primarily because it not only promotes a socially sustainable form of tourism, but also establishes links with active local relief projects. She is currently working to help design both the travel and the corporate event concepts.
